A NOTE ON "FLOATING DISCS" - Allowing the discs to `float` requires a gap to be left between the brake disc and the floating bobbins. With each brake application they collide which results in fairly rapid wear to both components. Depending on the wear the bobbins can be replaced on their own. We have commissioned Italian brake experts, Grimeca, to manufacture steel bobbins with a black finish that will last much longer than the aluminium originals, at a highly competitive price. If you find that the play is still excessive after replacing the bobbins it means that the brake disc itself is too worn and the whole disc will need replacing.
